Events

The goal of MWR Fitness & Sports is to motivate the entire Navy population, including active-duty service members, family members, retirees and DOD civilians, to adopt a personal plan to get fit, stay fit and set an example of physical readiness others want to follow.

Located in the Washington Navy Yard Town Center, MWR’s Fitness Center features three floors of top of the line cardiovascular and weight equipment, two racquetball courts and group exercise. Male and female locker rooms are also available on the first and second levels.

Individual and group instruction is available from certified fitness professionals in cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, flexibility and nutrition.

NEW! 24/7 Fitness Center Access

The Washington Navy Yard Fitness Center has added additional, non-monitored hours to its regular hours of operation, expanding access to authorized Drill Hall patrons to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

Please note that during unstaffed hours of operation, access to the following areas is prohibited:

  • 2nd and 3rd Floor Areas
  • Behind the Front Desk

 

Authorized Patrons with 24/7 Access

  • Active Duty
  • Reservists
  • Retired Military
  • Military Dependents
  • DoD Civilians
  • Contractors (with membership)

 

Registration for 24/7 Access

Authorized patrons wishing to use the Fitness Center during unmonitored hours must request access in advance.  Registration may be done at the Fitness Center, Monday-Friday from 5 a.m.-7 p.m.

Patrons may also complete the required forms (below) and drop them off at the Fitness Center Front Desk.
